A round-table discussion with Gulnar Muradoglu (Cass Business School), Werner DeBondt (DePaul University), William Forbes (Loughborough University Business School), Jose Manuel Varas (Cabot Financial) and Chris Clack (University College London).

Time: Friday, December 11, 2009 from 12:30 to 2:15pm

Venue: Armourer's Hall, 81 Coleman Street, London, EC2R 5BT (Directions)

Organised by the Centre for the Study of Financial Innovation and the Cass Behavioural Finance Working Group. With support from the Financial Services Knowledge Transfer Network.

The round table will discuss current academic work in the behavioural sciences that may help us to understand (and predict) how actors operate in both wholesale and retail finance. It will be a broad-brush tour d'horizon to explore what academics and the City can offer one another.

Key speakers include:

  • Gulnar Muradoglu, Professor of Behavioural Finance and Director of the Behavioural Finance Working Group at Cass Business School.*
  • William Forbes, Professor of Accounting and Finance at Loughborough University Business School.
  • Jose Manuel Varas, Senior Risk Analyst at Cabot Financial.

In addition, Dr. Christopher D. Clack, Director of the Financial Computing MSc Programme at University College London, has agreed to kick off the response, which is likely to turn into a lively debate.
